Episode 16: Happy Selection Sunday

Fam we made it. It’s Selection Sunday and the Cards are matched up against Matz Stockman and the mighty Minnesota Golden Gophers. Chris and Gabe return to breakdown the match-up which includes the former Cardinal and some interesting coaching connections. Okay yes, we talk the implications of Richard vs his dad’s old squad and what that means. The duo also take up general bracket talk, why it looks like the NET rankings didn’t mean anything, and the tradition of Cal going on ESPN on Selection Sunday to complain.

Episode 15: Louisville's Resume is Complete

After Louisville falls to North Carolina in the ACC Tournament Quarters, Gabe offers some solo takes now that the Big Dance is all that remains. He covers the loss to the Heels, why he thinks Louisville could still steal a 6-seed, and why he’s ready to take the ACC’s top teams against the field for the National Championship.

Episode 14: Sinkholes, VJ King and other Louisville Stranger Things

As March swings into full force, the boys discuss the strange occurrences happening across the city before diving head first into the victory over Notre Dame. Chris has an interesting suggestion for the future of VJ King and the guys discuss what awaits the Cardinals in post-season play. They then close things out with a discussion of the Kentucky Mr Basketball “controversy” and the media’s coverage of accusations against UK’s Kash Daniel (or lack therof).

Episode 13: Freefallin' February

After a week chock full of losing, Chris and Gabe try to diagnose Louisville basketball’s fall from grace. They each give their theory of what’s wrong and what needs to go right as the season comes to an end. They discuss how much blame belongs to Chris Mack, whether fatigue is a legitimate excuse and some of the individual moments that have felt critical to the slide. Tangents include Rick Pitino on the Knicks, the good and bad of Bohemian Rhapsody, problems with Green Book, the recent history of Spike Lee, and of course Lebron and the Lakers.

Episode 12: Google Gave Us the Finger

This week Chris and Gabe took a break from talking the Cards to talk everything else. Starting with the simmering news of Google Fiber pulling out of the Louisville market and what it means for the city in the big picture. Things take a quick turn with recent news about rumors linking Rick Pitino to the UNLV gig. Then the guys talk the weird flip-flops in the 2019 Governor’s race and the general state of the Democratic Primary. There’s also talk about Matt Jones and Amy McGrath potentially running against Mitch McConnell in 2020 and who has a better shot at winning. Finally the pod closes out with Brad Calipari’s potential future as a professional gamer and his courtside attire.
